Overview

The EpevsPower Y Series is a family of waterproof DC-DC boost converters that step a low battery or bus voltage up to a higher, stable voltage — for example 12 V to 24 V, or 24 V to 48 V. Five die-cast aluminum housings cover 120 W to 500 W and up to 20 A output, with input from 5 V to 60 V and fixed outputs from 6 V to 80 V. The one-piece aluminum shell is strong, compact and conducts heat away fast through fins on three sides. Fully potted and rated IP67, it is built for high-load onboard power supplies and industrial equipment.

What Is a DC-DC Boost Converter?

A DC-DC boost converter is a switching power module that raises a lower DC voltage to a higher, regulated DC voltage — for example 12 V to 24 V or 24 V to 48 V. It stores energy in an inductor and releases it at a higher voltage, so it can run 24 V or 48 V equipment from a 12 V or 24 V battery. Modern boost converters reach 92–95% efficiency.

How to Wire the Y Series Boost Converter

1. Check the voltages — your highest input voltage must stay below the output voltage.
2. Disconnect power before wiring.
3. Connect input: Red to battery positive (+), the input-side Black to battery negative (−). Use wire and a fuse rated for the input current — at 500 W from 12 V, input current exceeds 40 A.
4. Connect output: Yellow to load positive (+), the output-side Black to load negative (−). Input and output share a common ground.
5. Insulate every joint with heat-shrink tubing.
6. Mount the module with screws on a flat metal surface where air can flow over the fins.
7. Power up and measure the output before connecting the load.
